OUR FACTORIES
At present, we have three factories in Medan, Jakarta and Surabaya equipped with high tech equipment and sophisticated laboratories. Collectively, these factories have a total production capacity of 1.8 billion pieces per annum. ABC Alkaline batteries are designed to provide powerful portable power for high drain electronic devices, while the Carbon Zinc batteries meet the needs of low to moderate drain devices.
Our efforts in meeting the requirements and expectations of customers towards high quality products is reflected in the employment of advanced technology production processes and then implementation of Quality Assurance System in the whole production process. This whole process of QAS operation is based on the National Standard, IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), JIS (Japan Industrial Standard) and ANSI (American National Standards Institute).
We place great importance on environment conservation, in a system based on Analysis of Environmental Impact, with a production waste recycling installation and incinerator technology to help keep the environment green and also to maintain an awareness of the importance of Safety, Health and Environment
The making process of ABC batteries in the PT. INTERNATIONAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRY at an early stage was done manually. Then, with hard work, comparative studies and technology transfer developed a new method, so it can manufacture products according to the customer demand.
PT. International Chemical Industry was inaugurated in Jakarta in 1968. Thanks to the pioneer’s hard work, cooperation, ability to absorb new technology and loyalty of the company’s personnel. This development cannot be separated from the trust and support of the stakeholders.
Today, PT. International Chemical Industry serves not only domestic consumers but also overseas consumers. With quality consistency and variance of its products, PT. International Chemical Industry manufactures carbon zinc battery in D, C, AA and AAA size with several grades: Super Power, New Special, Standard and Economy.
Since 1996, PT International Chemical Industry started production of alkaline batteries AA/LR6 size and initially produced AAA/LR03 size alkaline batteries in the year of 2000.
All the products meet the National Standards and International ISO IEC 04-2051.2-2004 60086-1/60086-2 (2000-11); C18.IM ANSI-1992, JIS C 8501-1998, JIS C 8511:1998.
For the current and upcoming PT. International Chemical Industry has the ability to continue to grow and is committed to implementing the Quality Management System Standard ISO 9001: 2008, Environmental Management System IS) 14001: 2004 and Occupational Safety Management System based on Government Regulatory No. 50/2012.
SURABAYA
Growing demand of ABC batteries in domestic and foreign market is a challenge for PT. International Chemical Industry. With the support and tireless back up of all employees, PT. Hari Terang Industry in Surabaya was established in 1982. Surabaya was chosen to improve distribution services to cater market demand, particularly in East Java and eastern part of Indonesia.
In 2009, PT Hari Terang Industry was renamed to PT. International Chemical Industry Plant 2 Surabaya.
With the employee’s hard work, loyalty and ability to transfer technology, PT. International Chemical Industry Plant 2 has been able to manufacture high-quality batteries.
Currently, PT. International Chemical Industry Plant 2 produces carbon zinc battery of D and AA size in 2 grades: Standard and Economy. All the products meet National Standard of Indonesia (SNI) 04-2051.2-2004 and International standard: ISO IEC 04-2051.2-2004 60086-1/60086-2 (2000-11); C18.IM ANSI-1992, JIS C 8501-1998;
PT. International Chemical Industry Plant 2 will never cease to keep pace with technological progress and the time to provide more collateral to customer satisfaction, according to the company’s commitment to implementing the Quality Management System Standard ISO 9001: 2008, Environmental Management System ISO 14001: 2004 and Occupational Safety Management System based on local Government Regulation No. 50/ 2012.
Awards and Achievement
As a proof of our concern in the quality management PT. INTERCALLIN obtain ISO 9001 Certificates from SAI Global Assurance Services. Achieving this allows our business partners to have more confidence in the quality products. We also succeeded in fullfilling the global standard in Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. As result of our commitment to the environment, we received ISO 14001 from SGS.
PT. International Chemical Industry has received both local and international awards some of these are:

- Indonesia Customer Satisfaction Award (ICSA), we received Golden ICSA for Alkaline and Carbon Zinc Batteries for achieving ICSA for 10 consecutive year(2004-2013).
- MURI Award (World Record Museum – Indonesia) longest “Tamiya” toy car racetrack maker in 2005.
The National Awards in Safety, Health and Environmental Field, are:
- The best liquid waste management in Jakarta in 2003, 2004 dan 2005.
- The loyalty to environment management from Governor of Jakarta Province for 5 consecutive years.
- PROPER (Company Performance Assessment Programme) award with blue predicate for 7 consecutive years.
- As one of the company who implement Quality Management System ISO 9001 for 10 years from SAI Global.
- As one of the company who implement Enviromental Management System ISO 14001 for 10 years from SGS.
- “The most motivated and committed team for sustainable implementation” on EMA-EoCM program conducted by GTZ-ProLH (Indonesia – Germany) in 2007.
- Certification for Occupational and Health Management System on Government Regulation No. 50/2012.
- Industrial and Office Healthy Award from the Mayor of West Jakarta.
